Kasun Gunasooriya

Dr. Kasun Gunasooriya is an assistant professor of Sustainable Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. His research group efforts are aimed at the computational design and development of materials and processes to produce sustainable energy, fuels, and chemicals with improved efficiency and durability that can benefit societal and economic growth while minimizing impacts on the environment. In pursuit of these goals, his group combines the fields of computational catalysis, kinetics and continuum modeling, and machine learning to investigate complex and dynamic catalytic materials, reaction environments and processes, and techno-economic (TEA) and lifecycle analysis (LCA) to improve economic feasibility and minimize the environmental impact of sustainable technologies.
